I learned plans from the inside.
I got my start as a plan administrator, working on tax forms, compliance testing, and plan documents. I later worked with employers choosing a 401(k) plan, before building my own practice to work directly with plans and their participants.
In those conversations with employers, one concern kept coming up: service. They wanted someone who understood their plan, took responsibility, and was there when they needed help.
I work with individuals and employer retirement plans throughout Orange County. We arrange meetings where clients are, rather than asking them to visit an office.
That is the work I want to do.
I embrace being a fiduciary. For me, that means understanding the plan, following prudent processes, and documenting the work. It also means putting the interests of my clients and their participants first.
I especially enjoy meeting with employees. We sit down one-on-one, face-to-face, both initially and on an ongoing basis. I use personal illustrations and conversations about their own situation, so we can talk about what their plan means for them.
Over time, I become their “401(k) guy.” They know who to call when they have a question. That ongoing relationship is an important part of how I help.
